I struggled for hours to come up with an appropriate title for this, but in the end, it seemed best to simply call it what it is: a gift for the strong, amazing, compassionate and beautiful lady I am privileged to call my Grandmother. She adores giraffes, and can see the beauty in life and nature as I see it–always finding reasons to stop and admire a beautiful view or take a dozen photographs of a sunset or a particularly striking little flower in a field off the side of the road. She always knows the right words to say to bring a smile to someone’s face, or to comfort and encourage them. She told me I was an artist back when the giraffes I drew for her were lopsided amoeba-like wobbles with stick legs and rainbow crayon-colored spots.
Of all the things I wish I could say to or about her, there is so much more that I could never put into words, so I am hoping that the artwork will say it for me. Thank you, Grandma, for everything. God has greatly blessed me to be a part of your family. :)
