An art-nouveau-ish commission for the lovely Anastasia, who wanted to be a forest elf. Based on this gorgeous reference she sent me (she practically is an elf already!)
This took far longer than I anticipated for many reasons, one of them being how time-consuming and hand-murdering celtic knotwork is! Now I remember why I haven’t done knotwork in years… x_X;; The pattern is inspired from designs in this book – which is a lifesaver for planning and marking out your grid prior to drawing. Saves a lot of eraser-time when you know your knots will line up at the end! Despite all the work, I quite enjoyed this piece, and am very pleased with the turnout. I love to draw side-profiles, and especially elegant elvish ones. ^__^
Mechanical 0.5 pencil, around 30 hours.
