Well, Morgan’s gone and done something heroic (or at least very desperate). He was severely injured and fell into a coma, which has lasted several days now. It took the kindness of many people, including young Anna here, to bring him back from the edge of death, and it’s still a constant struggle to keep him breathing. There is hope, but he’s not…(yes, I’m going to say it) out of the woods yet.
This is the first time I’ve officially drawn Anna, I think. She’s flesh and blood, but Morgan’s perception of reality is vague at best, which is why she seems ethereal and dream-like here. I wanted the image to transition from color to pencil to suggest Morgan’s life draining away.
You can find an alternate version of this (without Anna) here in the gallery as well.
