The art show season is over for me (unable to do DragonCon this year), so there are a few leftovers I have to sell. Images, discounted prices, and descriptions below. Forgive the bad image quality...my digital camera is pretty lame. ^__^;;

Ah, I'm back...I think. ^__^; Had to take a good long break from artwork, visit some friends (*waves to Kelly*), catch up on other things I've been neglecting because of work. Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes and gift art! That was so sweet of you all. I'll try to get caught up in notes and e-mails soon.
My artistic block is slowly, finally beginning to crumble--I can see the light through the cracks! I've been sketching mostly random things: forests, vases of flowers, the livingroom doors...a strange cat-squirrel in a tree clutching an armful of flowers and laughing maniacally. XD Don't ask, I've no idea... I'm just letting it come as it will, not forcing or planning anything, and it seems to be working. Morgan throttled an unexpected portrait out of my muse this weekend, too, so that's a good sign! The urge to draw is stirring again, glimpses of ideas are starting to gather...I'm just waiting for them both to officially meet up and shake hands and then I'll be back in business!
I am still closed for commissions, but the Meadowhaven Print Shop is now open again! :) |

Hiatus

All right, I'm off! Paid commissions are finished, all print orders are mailed, and I just finished packing. I'm now taking a much-needed vacation from artwork and business and...pretty much *everything*, so my online activity will be very scarce the next few weeks. Please be patient if you send me any notes or e-mails during this time, as I might not be able to respond to them until I get back. ^__^; Here's hoping my art block will clear up and I'll have something new to show next month, but we'll see what happens. Thank you all for your comments and support! It really means a lot to me.

Artblock, Comic-Con, and Updates

My apologies to everyone for having disappeared for a while. I've been very busy (and very stressed), trying to finish a deadline commission painting on a subject completely out of my element, and fighting art block at the same time. I came very close to a burnout this month, hit a period where I hated everything I did and was worried I'd lost my ability to draw altogether. I've been struggling for a while, but I forced myself to take on commissions for the sake of paying bills, and that only made my lack of inspiration/motivation worse. I've had to cancel one commission already, and I'm closing my queue for the whole summer. I seriously need to take a break from art for a while, just to rest and do something different...I can't even sketch for myself anymore. x_X;;
On an upside, though, I've almost got my act together for the San Diego Comic-Con -- I will have two panels in the artshow there next month. I won't be able to personally attend, but you'll be able to find some of my best work there, including signed and matted prints of the new "Glance" painting and the "Companions: Trust and Friendship" set.

Art Progression Charts

For those curious to see how my art and characters have changed and grown over the years, I've put together a few "Art Progression Charts." It was quite a humbling experience wading through some of my older work to put these together, but it made me realize just how far I've come, and how much is possible if you're determined enough.
FAEREN, MORGAN, LUKE, SEMIYAR, DANNY/TIM, and JASON
Charts for other characters may eventually follow, and I'm also planning to write up something about my drawing experience and history, since I've been asked so many times about my learning process and how I started. Look for that sometime within the next couple weeks. ^__^; |
